Lecture: “Spectroscopy: Cracking starlight’s hidden code” - BNSS

Event date: 27th February 2018 at: 7.30pm

Speaker: Hugh Allen

We look at the colours of stars and galaxies. How much more can we learn from a detailed analysis of their spectra? Spectroscopy is a fundamental tool for astronomers. Hugh is a chemist who is a member of the William Herschel Society in Bath. He strongly believes that spectroscopy deserves far greater attention from amateurs.
