Speaker: Robert Law

Robert will talk about the state of polar science, and enlarge upon it with reference to his work as a PhD student working as part of the European Research Council funded RESPONDER project (https://www.erc-responder.eu/). He will focus on the use of distributed fibre optic sensors to better understand temperature, strain and ice properties through ~1 km boreholes drilled through the ice sheet.
