Messier is famous among astronomers for his 110 objects that might be confused with comets: a list of things to avoid if you’re a comet hunter. It is the bicentenary of Messier’s death. Allan is a regular speaker at BNSS, as well as a well-known speaker and broadcaster, and is always welcome for his excellent and erudite talks.
